As the Northampton music scene was relaxing and quietly sipping drinks, Maya Deren burst through the lounge door like an auditory freight train. This was July 2005 and it was starting.

By October 2005 the quintet had recorded their first release - the EP 'The Art Of Wish'. This was quickly followed by a plethora of local gigs for the band at venues such as The Jailhouse in Coventry, Bedford Esquires, The Racehorse in Northampton, Daventry Leisure Centre and The Soundhaus in Northampton and they were supporting the likes of Kula Shaker, Enter Shikari, Fell Silent, Ella, Team, Flood Of Red, 3 Stories High, Engerica, Gunning for Goliath and Bambix. Unfortunately, a promoter had to cancelled a gig supporting UK Subs.
