MESSAGE BOARD TIPS Make sure you're posting on message boards that you're already involved in, joining a bunch of new boards, blasting them with our acts then leaving angers a lot of people, the chances of them even looking at them are slim to none. Most message boards allow you to link a homepage in your profile. If you do not have a homepage, please make the homepage in your profile www.sparklepromotions.com/Band Name . Don't start several threads on the new acts (which are amazing), one topic does a better job than many: think quality, not quantity! Another great way to promote on message boards is to use a banner in your signature. This is a good way to get his name and your message seen without getting on peoples nerves with over-promotion. The best promotion is repetitive promotion and when they see the name or link it will cause more curiosity than constant postings just about the bands. This way people can look into our acts at their convenience. Also please be cool with people online. If you're a jerk to someone while trying to promote the bands and our acts, you will definitely turn them off. Don't let your pride get the best of you.act mature and fit in with them. Promote in a positive way. MYSPACE & FACEBOOK TIPS With MySpace & Facebook there really are so many options. You can post any of the webtools, any banner or avatar. - In a Bulletin, explaining why you think people should check out the act of your choice; YOUR ONLINE BLOG Whether you use a Xanga, Live Journal, DiaryLand, MySpace etc... you can utilize the banners to promote REQUESTING OUR BANDS ON THE RADIO We will keep you posted on where our acts are being played and how you can go about requesting them! NOTE Do NOT mass e-mail radio stations around the world. DJs know when it's a Street Team. Only e-mail stations you actually or CAN actually listen to! Be Nice To The DJs! If the DJs say anything negative about one of our acts or harass you in general, just play cool with them and don't get on their nerves, just let them know you like their music and you need to hear the tunes you requested. Don't get hurt with the DJ's if they say negative stuff. They are DJ's, and sometimes that is part of their persona... trust us on this one, Jools and Xander have both worked in radio, not that we were ever mean, but we know DJs who were! GIVE A REVIEW OF THE CD Go to sites like www.amazon.com, www.cdbaby.com, iTunes, or any other site that will allow you to leave your review of the CD, and give your review of the album! PROMOTION FLYERS Putting up promotional flyers is the easiest form of promotion. Just print out a good quality copy of the flyer, then make as many copies as you can. Please stay away from neon or any dark colours, a light borwn, cream or white are perfect for our flyers. You can take them to a printers or a local family business to get them copied! Where To Get The Flyers Out! The flyers are to be put up in various stores, hit up all the local shops, indie record stores (even Virgin, Tower or HMV if they will let you), cultural stores, indie clubs, places you know that our acts would fit in. Regular music stores and record stores, skate shops, any place that advertises music, since our acts are not exclusive to one genre, and many people love his music. Put flyers up around your uni campus, community bulletin boards and bookstores. You can pass flyers out at a concerts, at school, uni, give them to all of your friends. Basically its about getting the word out to those that need to know about the album. Just carry them around with you wherever you go and if you see people that look like they might get into Sparkle Promotions' acts' music then pass it to them and say hey check this out. When handing these out, tell them about the new release and that they should check it out and buy it! NOTE Please make sure to ask permission before posting flyers anywhere.
